Fr. Charles V. Lachowitzer, Pastor
The Vicar General is the principal deputy of the Archbishop in the exercise of administrative authority. The Vicar General assists the Archbishop in the general care and administration of the diocese. The Moderator of the Curia is appointed by the Archbishop to coordinate the ministries and services of the Archdiocese. The curia includes personnel and offices through which the Archbishop administers the affairs of the Archdiocese.
Father Lachowitzer was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis on June 2, 1990. Prior to his seminary studies he earned a B.S. degree in secondary education at the University of Wisconsin. Positions he held from 1977 to 1985 include teaching at Stillwater High School, serving as District Executive for Northern Lights Council in North Dakota, teaching at Granite Falls High School in Washington, and serving as Superintendent of Public Schools in Brinnon, WA. He entered The Saint Paul Seminary in 1985 and earned a Master of Divinity degree from The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity of the University of St. Thomas in 1989.
Since his ordination, he has served as associate pastor at the Church of St. Michael in Stillwater, as principal of St. Croix Catholic School, as pastor of the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Maplewood, as pastor of the Church of St. John Neumann in Eagan, and as president of the board of directors and canonical administrator for Faithful Shepherd School in Eagan. He was named Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis effective November 21, 2013.
