Advent and ChristmasPlease mark your calendars, plan to attend, and invite others to the following services, masses, and celebrations:
Advent Masses, Saturdays 5pm and Sundays 8:30, 10:30am Communal Reconciliation Service, December 12 at 7pm Advent Praise, December 22 at 5pm Christmas Eve Masses at 4, 6, and 10pm Christmas Day Mass at 10:30am Please note, incense will be used during Advent at the Saturday 5pm & Sunday 10:30am Masses. |
Angel Tree - Now Through Dec 14Please visit the trees in the Gathering Space and choose angels or gift cards to help those in need at Christmas time. Remember to return them to St. Gerard’s by Saturday, December 14. It is very important that you return the gifts by the requested date as these may be the only gifts they receive this Holiday. (For information about the different angels, see the flyer. ) Thank you St. Gerards for sharing your love and kindness this Advent/Christmas season!

December Food For Families Collection - Through Dec 29The St. Gerard’s Knights of Columbus will be collecting non-perishable food for the holidays from December 1-30 to be donated to CEAP to help alleviate hunger in our community. The Knights will hand out grocery bags to our parishioners with a list of suggested food items after the Masses on the weekends of November 30/December 1 and December 8/ 9. We will accept your donations through Sunday, December 29. The Knights thank you again for supporting CEAP and the people they serve.

Daily Mass and Breakfast - Dec 13Did you know that St. Gerard's has daily Mass in the Chapel on Tuesday - Friday at 8:25am (and a Communion Service at 8:25am on Monday)? Did you also know that you can stay after Mass (on the second Friday of each month) and enjoy fellowship and breakfast with each other? Breakfast alternates by month for “eating in” in St. Francis Hall or ”eating out” at a local restaurant. Friday, December 13, will be our next breakfast and it will be at St. Gerard’s. You are invited to attend! All are welcome!

Christmas Decorating - Dec 21 and Dec 23Many hands make light work! All are invited to set up for Christmas on Saturday, December 21st at 10am or Monday, December 23rd at 2pm. There are jobs for everyone; families welcome! Contact Amy at amyw@st-gerard.org for questions.

Loaves & Fishes - Dec 27St. Gerard’s hosts Loaves & Fishes on the 4th Friday of every month. Our next date is Friday, December 27 and we serve from 5-7pm. It takes 16 to 20 volunteers from St. Gerard’s to set up the meal and serve it to the guests at St. Stephen's in Minneapolis. Sign up to serve on the easel in the Gathering Space. Solemnity of Mary, Holy Mother of God - Jan 1The Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, a Holyday of Obligation, will be celebrated Wednesday, January 1 at 10:00am and 7:00pm. Please join us!

Sharing & Caring Hands - Jan 4St. Gerard’s prepares and serves a lunch at Sharing and Caring Hands every 1st Saturday of the month. Our next date is Saturday, January 4. No need to sign up, just come on Saturday morning at 9:00am to St. Gerard’s kitchen and help prepare the food. Then at 10:50am help pack up the food, take it to Sharing and Caring Hands on 7th Street (Minneapolis), and help serve at 11:30am. Call John at 763-561-3841 with any questions.
