Nativity of the Lord, Christmas - Monday, December 25
Psalm 98: All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.
The evangelist John proposes that the birth of Jesus is like the light that suddenly slices through the all pervading darkness, clearly showing the way. This light is not an illusion, it is not false, but rather a strong beacon that cannot be overcome, no matter how dark the darkness may become. It is also a light that is permanent, steadfast, and faithful. It will never grow dim and it will never wear out. To follow this light means that we begin a journey that will lead us to fullness and life, a journey of empowerment that makes us children of God.
Today, remain focused on the light of Jesus, and try not to let all of the other distractions overwhelm you.
