Our Faith Formation Program needs volunteers.
"Go make disciples and teach them everything that I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19-20
It has been a long tradition that our parish family has offered their time and talents. It is through caring, sharing and praying that our community has grown in love and support of one another. The success of our Faith Formation program depends on the dedicated individuals in our parish willing to share their time, talents and faith with the present and future church, our parish children and youth. We encourage all parishioners, as well as the parents of children/youth in our program to be a part of the Faith Formation process.
The Mission of a Catechist is such an important one. It is a mission that has been given to the whole Church through their baptism: that every individual Christian share in the works of Jesus Christ. The Role of a Catechist is to bring our young people closer to Jesus and grow in their faith as Catholics. Through their service the catechist nurtures and mentors the faith and spiritual growth of the children/youth they teach so that they may form a firm commitment to follow Christ.
Please prayerfully consider volunteering as a catechist, room monitor, hall monitor, office helper or prayer warrior. Our children and youth need YOU to share your faith as you, too, grow in your faith as you minister to the present and future of our church.
Our Faith Formation classes are held normally, ever other Wednesdays from 6-7:30 pm and go from September – May. We need catechists for Kindergarten through 5th grade, Sacramental (First Reconciliation/First Communion) as well as for our Confirmation 6th-8th grade program.
All volunteers must be VIRTUS trained and obtain a background check. Training for all volunteers will be provided in-person as well as online.
Please contact Maredith Toweh, Interim Director at [email protected] if you have any questions or would like to volunteer. Thank you for prayerfully considering being part of this amazing ministry.
